Shifting What You Manifest: Moving from Self-Sabotage to God’s Purpose

Remember when you were a child and you had that one object, thought, person, or action that you just couldn’t be without? You imagined if you didn’t have that object, be in that particular place, or control that event, life would not be worth living. You probably experienced your first tantrum as a result of life or your parents forcing you to let go of that security blanket—telling you summer at granddad’s is cancelled or that you didn’t get that college acceptance after weeks of hoping.

These were events or experiences your parents knew would only limit your abilities, cloud your judgment, or force you to experience things they knew would only make things worse. Sometimes we listened; other times, it went in one ear and out the other.

The Loop of Misery: Recognizing Self-Sabotage in Adulthood

I can’t begin to count how many faithful believers contact us with the exact same child-to-adulthood pattern of self-sabotage. It’s only after we begin to talk and engage that they realize the problem, issue, or experience is something he or she has been carrying from chapter to chapter in their own life story.

Everyone’s stopped listening to your looped recording of misery, attending your play of defeat, and accepting your self-imposed anger. You’re manifesting your negative subconscious, and family and friends have tuned out.

After a while in life, if maturity has settled, we know it’s time to evaluate what works in our lives and what simply doesn’t anymore. Be that:

  • An unfulfilling job

  • An uncompromising partner

  • Those you’ve determined are "frenemies" (friend + enemy)

  • Even sometimes where we stand in our beliefs and faith

If not recognized, the struggle manifests itself in our everyday lives, exposing our disbelief, anger, delusion, and indecision. And it affects those around you, too.

Have you ever wondered:

  • Why some close friends have stopped calling?

  • Why you’re about to go through your third divorce?

  • Why you haven’t aced that promotion at work?

Think about what you are manifesting...

Aligning Your Faith and Focus

I believe God only wants the best for His believers—even through our self-inflicted pain, anger, and delusion that we sometimes carry for years unnoticed.

Others notice, though. Others notice whether we are at peace in our lives or manifesting the worst scenarios.

When we concentrate on God and pray for healing through the acceptance of our accountability or offering forgiveness to those that have wronged us, then and only then can we begin to feel and think positively. And this, in turn, is what you will manifest. Many blessisngs.

James 1:3-4

For you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.
