Changing the pace.....

Okay, so we're almost back at square one concerning Covid and the Delta Variant and whatever else surfaces as I write and you read! We as a country attempted to face Covid with preventive measures only to now learn even the fully vaccinated are experiencing problems and health issues! Our newly elected President has removed U.S. soldiers from Afghanistan after 20 years of military protection from government and religious adversaries but currently there's a great exodus occurring with thousands attempting to leave Afghanistan as a result of what some define as an inevitable Taliban controlled government. Back here in the U.S. our local schools are at odds with its state government concerning masks mandates for public schools where children under 12, due to age cannot get the vaccination, but are still possibly remain a Covid threatened group.

Racial tension and conversations seem to be setting us back to the sixties, and let's not forget the average working American has a depleted bank or retirement account as we push thru paltry paychecks trying to pay our bills, feed our families and maintain a decent quality of life.  Yes, it's even more exhausting than a year ago! On days like this when it all comes crashing down I try to get away from everything and everybody.

I live close to Austin in Texas so South San Padre Island is just a few hours drive or an hour flight from my office. That's where I go when I need to change my viewpoint, attitude, spirit and pace. Here is where I can sit, think, plan and pray. I get away from the everyday challenges, the difficult people and focus on my spirituality and my internal and external goals and plans, but most importantly, I change my pace. There are days we all face the worst life has to offer. Those are the days you must determine and possibly change your own pace. Find what makes you feel grounded, or go where you find peace, whether its a shift in your normal routine, or a variation in your usual activities or pattern. Whatever places you in-step with God and His requirements and helps you offer the world your own spiritual testimony. It's not easy to be spiritually in-step these days, but leaning on a higher power can certainly change the way you face your challenges. Stay in prayer and keep your pace Believers, the world is depending on you.
