Favored...

Have you ever greeted a person "in the spirit" with a "how are you? "and received the response "...blessed and highly favored"? It's a common and highly revered phrase acknowledging God's grace, mercy and blessings on and in our lives. Beyond our place in Heaven, it is the ultimate gift.

When you are blessed and highly favored you have chosen to be obedient and submit to God's will through faith. Your life becomes a living example of blessings and favor - you are a favored person. Not all of us will experience this grace. Some of us stumble, fall out of faith, but get back up.  Others struggle with belief, charging all the ill ways of the world to a merciless and futile faith in a mystery called God.

But we know better.  We know that the perils of the world require our own individual work and contribution. Through Christ we can change one event, one heart, one man at a time. This and faith earns us our "favor".

Remember, courage and faith require the strength to stand when its easier to fall, to lean on tolerance when all you believe is harshly refuted, to offer respect when all about you is human disregard.

You are "favored" because you are a Believer. Through all your trials remember to pray, in all your doubt embrace courage, and  in all your adversity stand in strength. And when those who suffer the fate of disobedience choose to discredit your blessings  tell that non-believer "favor ain't fair but it sure is fun!" Amen!

Romans 8:28

And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.
