Have you ever found yourself simply going through the "motions" of life? A point we sometimes reach in our lives when we've adapted to our respective routines, whether its at the office, out with friends, our mate, our family, and even sometimes in our prayers and worship. Unless we have a crisis or a celebratory event, most things become mundane, with little if no expectation of what's next in our lives.
Most days my life, both personal and professional consists of constant movement, appointments, obligations - its busy. But I also found myself acclimating to the pace. It became routine for me. I even noticed in my prayers my mind would drift. Not really concentrating on my conversation with God. Did I need a crisis or triumph to motivate me back into my life? My praise and worship?
We all get in a "rut" sometimes, its inevitable. We wonder what the next day, week or sometimes even year will bring. Hopefully not the same old problems. I've even known people who would purposely self-sabotage their opportunities just to have a reason to become excited about their life.
But 'm learning everyday to look for the extraordinary in the mundane. I try to look for opportunities to be of service to someone else. Opportunities to advance my professional acumen, widen my networking base. But most important, I'm learning to be thankful for the mundane, because I know adversity is just around the corner. So I encourage you Believer, to look past the ordinary, see your life for the the adventure it is or can be, and continue to walk in faith because trouble will surely rear its confusing head, and you'll miss your ordinary days.
Proverbs 13:4
The soul of the sluggard craves and gets nothing, while the soul of the diligent is richly supplied.
