The Hebrew word for relentless pursuit is Radaph, meaning to seek and chase something with great effort and energy. The idea is not just pursuit, but to relentlessly chase and take hold of rightness and love. These are non-negotiable, core virtues of the believer
Every day our lives are filled with agendas, schedules, and "to-do" lists. Our immediate perception and objective are that we must meet a certain goal, a particular metric, an elevated status, a place of social position in our work, communities, and even our places of worship. It's the relentless pursuit of worldly acceptance and perfection. You see it in most celebrities, politicians, global leaders, family, friends, and coworkers. Without ceasing most strive with laser-sharp vision and fortitude seeking the label and attributes of success, forgetting or omitting the balance of Jesus Christ in our pursuit of success. But is it wrong to want and desire success through Christ? Of course not. But it depends upon your definition of success.
God tells us to first seek the kingdom of God because no matter what earthly achievements we strive for the end only promises a review of who we are, what we are, and what we offered to the world. Not one award, not one material piece, nor even one dollar can we take with us when our time comes to stand before God. So what is your relentless pursuit? What will your success story to the Father be? Of course, there are those that scoff at the notion of eternal life. Can you imagine how sad they'll be when they learn they've missed a lifetime of grace, mercy, and forgiveness? How sad to not know that God does reward an earnest and faithful heart.
Remember Believers and those seeking peace and understanding, in all that you say, in all that you do, in all that you give, and in all you receive let God offer His direction and light your path. It certainly will be a tumultuous walk some days. There may be times when you feel alone, tired, exhausted, and on the edge of hopelessness, in these times remember the relentless pursuit of God, His blessings, mercy, importantly, and favor, and most important remember prayer. God's love, strength, favor, and mercy are there for you. I'm praying for you...remember me in your prayers too.
But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.
But as for you, O man of God, flee these things. Pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, steadfastness, gentleness.
Matthew 6:19-21
“Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
1 Kings 2:3
And keep the charge of the Lord your God, walking in his ways and keeping his statutes, his commandments, his rules, and his testimonies, as it is written in the Law of Moses, that you may prosper in all that you do and wherever you turn,
