Who Can We Trust?...

Today, this week, and possibly all year we've watched, listened, and read conflicting views on where the United States' democracy is heading. As we face a new presidential election tempers are flaring, insults are being posted, rumors are being spread and it all depends on which political party you support or follow. It's a volatile time for politics in the United States.

Through all the white noise, social media posts and videos, e-print news, and articles, we know as Believers when we hear the voice of our Father. We know that through all the disruption, loud voices, and discord It is a responsibility for each one of us to fast, pray, and select the candidate that speaks to the internal moral code and values we share under Christ. We must not let the negative rhetoric, misinformation, fear, and anger destroy what we as a country have built collectively.

Who can we trust? Trust in the Lord to provide you the wisdom, knowledge, and the courage it will take for you to make your personal voting decision. Your choice may lead to family discord, professional calamity, broken friendships, and for some even bodily harm. But we as Believers must be up for the challenge no matter how grim or unfavorable. Whether it be our general or your city and state elections, we all must take a true self-inventory, study the issues, understand our concerns, and align ourselves with the candidates and platforms that represent our beliefs in both professional and personal character, our moral values, and the progression we want our lives to take. Do we believe in the right to choose, or is it now time for governmental forces to decide? Do we believe in complete racial equality, or is your perspective aligned elsewhere? Do we believe in the democracy our forefathers conceived, wrote, and implemented, or has the Supreme Court ruling for full presidential immunity for the office's actions settled well with you? Are we prepared to let a biracial woman for the first time in U.S. history take the helm of our country and present our values to the rest of the world? Where do you stand Believer?

These are the hard questions life, and our country expects you to answer later this year. It is both an exciting as well as a fearful time in our lives. And at the time of judgment, we all would like to hear "Well done".

Be not envious of evil men, nor desire to be with them, for their hearts devise violence, and their lips talk of trouble. By wisdom a house is built, and by understanding it is established; by knowledge the rooms are filled with all precious and pleasant riches. A wise man is full of strength, and a man of knowledge enhances his might,
